Whether your preference is stillwater or river water, Mid Devon has a plethora of options to fulfil your angling needs.  We have shown here the different fishing holiday destinations, sites with day-tickets and member-only sites.  Most of our fishing clubs offer annual membership for only a small price with regular swims or beats so you can plan return visits to Mid Devon throughout the year.  Download a copy of our Fishing Lakes and Holidays Guide.

Fishing Breaks and Holidays

Enjoy a relaxing break in Mid Devon at one of our many accommodation sites with fishing facilities:

1: Bellbrook (Oakford)

Set in the picturesque Bellbrook Valley, this fishery offers five lakes with rainbow, blue and brown Trout.  Suitable for beginners and more experienced anglers. Bellbrook offers holiday units and glamping accommodation as well as day passes to the lakes. Onsite lodge and tackle shop.

2: Bradfield Park (Willand)

Bradfield Park is a delightful holiday-lodge complex with onsite lake surrounded by parkland. Guests are invited to cast a line while holidaying. Find Mirror Carp, Rudd, Tench, Orfe and a few goldfish as well.

3: Bridge House Hotel (Bampton)

Bridge House is a quality restaurant with guest rooms situated in the delightful historic town of Bampton.  Situated in the north of the Exe Valley near Exmoor, guests can book permits to fish for Salmon, Trout or Grayling along parts of the River Exe and its tributaries.

4: Chenson Fishery (Chawleigh)

Three and a half miles of superb brown trout, sea trout and salmon fishing on Rivers Taw and Yeo. Certified camping and caravanning site at Chenson Farm.

5: Four Ponds Fishery (Shillingford, Bampton)

A mature fishery offering three lakes with fish of outstanding quality, colouration and size, set in 12 peaceful acres of glorious Devon countryside close to the lovely small towns of Bampton & Dulverton (gateway to Exmoor). Onsite caravan and camping site, tackle shop, toilets and shower facilities.

6: Fox and Hounds Country Hotel (Chawleigh)

With more than 3 miles of the River Taw for guests to explore, there are varied fly fishing opportunities for small stream wild Trout, sea Trout and the occasional Salmon. The Fox and Hounds has their own fly fishing school on site, with experienced full time AAPGAI instructors (pre-booking advisable).

7: Goodiford Mill Fishery and Leisure (Kentisbeare)

A trio of fishing lakes in Beautiful Devon, Goodiford Mill offers a tranquil retreat in which to relax. 15 acres of lovely countryside boasting a specimen Carp lake, silver fish lake and exceptional coarse fishing available all year. Seven holiday lodges available onsite.

8: Lake View Fishery (Down St Mary)

Certified caravan and camping site with 0.75 acre lake offering Carp, Rudd and Bream. Day tickets available.

9: Lower Hollacombe Fishery (Crediton)

Stay at luxury Hollacombe Lodge and enjoy Carp fishing at Lower Hollacombe Fishery.

10: The Lakehouse at Langford Court (Cullompton)

This holiday home is set in the stunning estate of Langford Court, surrounded by swathes of farmland and a conservation area. Six of the estate’s 11 lakes are well stocked with fish (Carp, Tench and Bream).

11: Lakeside Lodges (Exebridge, Bampton)

Self-catering lodge site set in the stunning Exe Valley. Two lakes for coarse fishing with rights leased to Tiverton and District Angling Club. Day tickets available weekdays, full Members only at weekends.  Guests are provided with a fishing permit allowing one rod per day with the exception of match days.

12: Newcourt Ponds (Cullompton)

Newcourt Barton Bed and Breakfast has four lakes stocked with Carp, Tench, Bream, Orfe, Rudd and Tench for day fishing. Guests can fish for free or day tickets are available for non-guests.

13: Ponsford Ponds (Knowle, Cullompton)

Ponsford Ponds Holidays offers a selection of quality holiday-let units with private fishing at no additional cost. The ponds are filled with mirror and common Carp up to 10lbs, with various silver fish, Bream, Roach, Rudd and Perch. An additional specimen pond is available with Carp up to 20lb.

14: Pound Farm Fishing Holidays (Butterleigh)

Pound Farm Holidays are designed to offer cosy and comfortable, year-round accommodation on a working beef and sheep farm. A small fishing pond is stocked with Roach, Rudd and Perch. Guests are able to fish during the summer as many times as you like during your stay at no extra cost.

19: West Middlewick Farm (Nomansland, Tiverton)

Campsite and glamping pod on working farm with onsite farm shop. There are three options for fishing: Carp fishing at the onsite lake, Trout fishing on the River Dalch (guest-only) or visit nearby Dart Raffe Farm fishing lake. All the sites are ideal for adults and children. Dogs are welcome.

20: West Pitt Lakes and Lodges (Sampford Peverell)

Luxury Self Catering Lodges with hot tubs and coarse fishing lakes ~ Dog-friendly. The site offers resident-access only to two well stocked lakes. The Fishing Lakes are accessible to both able and disabled anglers.

21. Woodleigh Caravan Park (Cheriton Bishop)

Touring site on the fringe of Dartmoor, ideal for adults and children. Dogs are also welcome. The site is a haven for anglers, with two well-stocked coarse fishing lakes to choose between. Also situated close to the beautiful Woodleigh Coach House Café and Guest House.

Stillwater Fishing

Unwind in Mid Devon at one of our many fishing lakes.  Many operate day and night tickets.  Please check booking information with the site.

A: Colebrook Fishery (Cullompton)

A specimen Carp fishery set in the heart of the Devon countryside. The 3-acre lake offers 8 spacious swims with challenging spots for more experienced anglers. Onsite facilities include a kitchen with appliances, luxury toilet and shower block.

B: Coombe Farm Fishponds (Cadeleigh)

Two stillwater coarse fishing lakes with Carp, Roach, Tench and Bream.

C: Creedy Lakes (Crediton)

Two 18th century spring-fed waters offering some of the hardest fighting carp fishing in Devon. Open March through to end of December, all bookings online only. Onsite toilets with cold water and shaver point. Priority swim for wheelchair users can be booked in advance by telephone.

D: Culm Valley Fishery (Madford, Hemyock)

Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this fishery offers three ponds for day fishing filled with Roach, Rudd, Gudgeon, Perch, Tench and Carp.

E: Diggerlakes (Willand)

Set in the Culm Valley, Diggerlakes offers access to two quality Carp and pleasure fishing lakes on a day or night ticket basis; pre-booking via website only. Onsite facilities include toilets, showers (£), changing room and fresh drinking water. Automated pellet dispenser.

F: Hartsmoor Fisheries (Bolham Water, Clayhidon)

Two day ticket lakes and one syndicate member-only lake. Open throughout the year, the day-lakes hold a good stock of Bream and the syndicate lake offers quality Carp.

G: Knapp Farm Lakes (Clayhidon) *Temporarily Closed*

Three lakes covering approximately 3 acres filled with Carp, Roach, Rudd and Tench.

H: Millhayes Lakes (Kentisbeare)

Centered around a stunning countryside location, Millhayes offers a tremendous angling environment that comprises of two lakes. Both lakes are fed with a continuous flow of spring water that comes from the Blackdown Hills. Toilets onsite.

I: Salmonhutch Fishery (Uton, Crediton)

This Stillwater course of three 1-acre spring-fed offer Mirror Carp, Common Carp, Rudd, Tench and Perch.  Permits available from the Warden.

O: Johnsland Group Fishery (Zeal Monachorum)

Stillwater fishing lake in a beautiful setting. On-site luxury lodge also available to book for fishing breaks.

Member-Only Stillwater Swims

J: Grand Western Canal Country Park (Tiverton, Halberton, Sampford Peverell, Burlescombe)

Angling platforms are located at various points through the Country Park. Angling rights on the Grand Western Canal are leased to the Tiverton and District Angling Club.

K: Kia Ora Fishery (Cullompton)

Exeter and District Angling Association member lakes.

L: Lakeside View Fisheries (Cullompton)

Premier specimen carp syndicate lakes and holiday cottages. Lakeside View is a limited number syndicate that offers you the chance to catch stunning mirror and common carp in the peaceful Devon countryside.

M: Sampford Peverell Ponds (Sampford Peverell)

Tiverton and District Angling Club member site. Two ponds located near to Tiverton Parkway Railway Station offering quality stocks of Carp, Tench, Bream, Perch and Roach.

N: Shobrooke Park (Shobrooke)

A series of four lakes cascade through the 180-acre park. The gardens are privately-owned and open for visitors on set dates throughout the year. Visitors can walk through permitted access areas of the park and syndicate members can fish on the large lake.

River Fishing in Mid Devon
