Culmstock Beacon from Hemyock
A challenging 6 mile route consisting of some difficult terrain, miles of track, footpath and country lane.

Start Point: Millhayes, Hemyock
Starting from Millhayes, Hemyock, along the River Culm, follow the country lane to Culm Davy, passing the little chapel. Start the climb up past Culm Davy Hill and follow the path through the woodland. Turn left and you will come to Culmstock Beacon. Due to its elevated position the stone building is perched in a magical spot to take in the magnificent views of the surrounding countryside.
Just below the beacon you will find the village of Culmstock where you can enjoy footpaths along the River Culm Valley and a few good eateries.
For those looking for adventure you can continue your walk across Black Down Common where you will often see horses and a variety of wildlife.
