Top tips for visiting the Mid Devon Show 2025
Start to plan and maximise your day!
Saturday 26th July 2025 will see people flock to Tiverton for the agricultural show displaying some of the best local produce, livestock, music and entertainment.
Attending the Mid Devon Show with your family can be a great way to spend quality time together and introduce children to the world of farming and agriculture. Here are some tips to make the experience enjoyable for everyone:

#TIP 1 – Plan ahead.
If you attend to go, its a good idea to secure your ticket in advance as they are cheaper than on the door. Children under 15 are free with a paid accompanying adult, making it an affordable day out for the family.
To secure an early bird ticket visit the website.
Cast your eye over the program to make sure you don’t miss any demonstrations, competitions, or performances that you’re particularly interested in. Note the show ground opens at 8.30 am and closes at 6.30pm.
The Mid Devon Show will feature various competitions such as livestock judging, equestrian events, or car shows. Watching these competitions can be entertaining and provide you with a better understanding of the skills and expertise required in different agricultural pursuits.
This year’s show will be packed full of entertainment with something for everyone, making it one of Devon’s best days out and Mid Devon’s largest event of the year. The main ring headline acts will vary, so be sure to review the show’s programme and map to identify the family-friendly activities and events.
#TIP 2 – Travelling to the event.
The Show is set in the beautiful parklands of Knightshayes (National Trust), overlooking Tiverton.
If you are coming by car do not follow your sat nav; simply follow the signs as you enter Tiverton. Parking is free but you will be parking on grass (if it gets muddy, tractors will be on hand to pull you out!). Check out the Mid Devon show website for FREE bus routes and park and ride options around the site: Getting Here – Mid Devon Show
The show offers free parking and a complimentary bus service from Cullompton, Tiverton, and the Park & Ride site. Plus, those using the Park & Ride service will be entered into a draw to win £100!
# Tip 3 – Pack a bag for the occasion
Wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for spending a day outdoors. Consider the weather and bring appropriate protection such as hats, sun lotion, or a rain coat. There are plenty of food and drink options at the show but if you prefer to take a packed lunch that is permitted. Remember your drinks bottles to stay hydrated, especially if it’s hot; there are plenty of toilets dotted around the site (including disabled and baby changing facilities).
If you are driving to the show, you are allowed to return to your car throughout the day. Therefore, leave any extra items you don’t want to carry in the car, you can collect them later if required (just make sure you get your hand stamped at the gate to return to the show and don’t leave any valuables on show).
Dogs are welcome but you must keep them on a short lead (do not leave them in your car). Don’t forget poo bags and a water bowl!
#TIP 4 – Engage with the experts
Look for opportunities to interact with expert farmers, breeders, and horticulturists present at the show. They can provide valuable insights, answer your questions, and offer advice on specific agricultural practices or challenges.
The famous Food Hall will have over 50 producers from across the South West with both local offerings and tastes from across the world. Explore the stalls and array of local farmers, artisans, and food producers.
It’s a great time to try local produce and sample different types of food.
#TIP 5 – Bring a picnic blanket
Take breaks – Mid Devon Show can seem quite large to little ones and requires a lot of walking. Look for seating options where you and your family can take breaks, relax, and enjoy some downtime. A picnic blanket is a great back-up option and you can set up anywhere around the showground.
An ideal spot is next to the music stage, where there will be back to back performances across the day. Showcasing the local talent in the area and well established groups for you to singalong with and enjoy the atmosphere.

#TIP 6 – Charge your phone
Capture the special moments with your family or friends and take lots of pictures. Take photos of your children interacting with animals, participating in activities, or enjoying the overall experience. These photos will serve as cherished memories of your day at the Mid Devon Show 2025.
Phone signal can be hit and miss sometimes, so if you’re attending the show with a large group or have older children who can go off and explore themselves, establish a meeting point for lunch, so you can join back up again! If anyone gets lost around the site there are marshals in high vis jackets that can help you on the day.
#TIP 7 – Card Vs Cash
A lot of the entertainment is free during the show. However, there are areas which will require card or cash such as the food and drink stalls, fairground rides and shopping area e.g craft, clothing, gardening stalls etc.
#TIP 8 – Turn it into a weekend
