Hop in to Easter Fun: A Guide to the Best Easter Events in Mid Devon!

Easter is traditionally a time of joy and celebration. With the arrival of spring, these school holidays are also a time for families to come together and join in with festive events, while enjoying the change of seasons. From Easter egg hunts to live entertainment, there are lots of ways to celebrate this special occasion!

In this summary, we’ll take a look at some of the Easter events coming up in various locations across Mid Devon, so you can plan your perfect Easter celebration.

Springing into Action: Events Celebrating the Arrival of Spring

Don’t miss the wonderful Cullompton Springfest on 8th April, a day packed with all sorts of fun for all ages! Including music, crafts, farmers’ market, activities and food and drink. Activities are taking place throughout the town, including at The Walronds.

Tiverton Pannier Market is also hosting a Spring Festival in 2023, a showcase of local food, drink, producers and makers, plus live music, stalls and a chance to meet owls and other birds of prey, on Saturday 1st April.

Bear Trail – Easter at the Trail
Daily from 1st April
Devon’s muddiest family assault course reopens for 2023. Children completing the trail over Easter will pick up a certificate and bag themselves a sweet treat.

Find the eggs hidden throughout the town and earn a reward to take home! Includes a SEND session on March 31st.

Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life – Easter Fun
1st April to 15th April
Spot the eggs and find the chicks hidden all around the museum.

 

Coldharbour Mill – Madhatters and March Hares

Hunt for eggs, take a tour around the mill, explore the wildlife meadow and join the craft tea party.

Knightshayes – Easter Adventures

Easter Trail through the estate with nature inspired activities, including a Giant Egg and Spoon Race, Welly Wanging and Build a Den.

Killerton – Easter Trail

Follow the trail and find fun activities for the whole family.

Wildwood Devon – Easter Eggstravaganza

Two weeks of family activities including Easter egg hunts in the beech hedge maze, face painting and willow crown making.

Curtains Up: What’s on at Stage and Screen

Tiverton Community Arts Centre has some great shows coming up! This Easter there are two brilliant family musical on offer, The Three Little Pigs on Sunday 16th April and The Jungle Book on Saturday 22nd April. For the grown ups, Richard Digance is bringing his quick wit and musical skill to entertain you on Saturday 8th April.

Look out for special family offers at Tivoli Cinema in Tiverton over the Easter break, as well as their mega popular event cinema with live recordings of top shows direct from the West End. Shows coming up include the National Theatre’s Life of Pi, The Royal Ballet performing Cinderella and Coldplay live at River Plate.

Crediton Arts Centre are hosting Long for the Coast on 14th April, a musical duo who combine sincere lyrics with beautiful harmonies and sing stories about social change, spiritual adventures, and close friends lost and found.

From Manor to Garden: Explore Historic Houses and Gardens

Explore the Parkland at Bridwell, looking out for the herd of red and fallow deer before getting a bite to eat at the fabulous Orangery Cafe. (Look out for their 2023 Artisans and Makers Markets starting on 23rd April).

Discover Fursdon House, which reopens for 2023 on Easter Monday. Take a tour of the house, one of Devon’s oldest family homes, including a look at their fascinating costume collection, explore the garden and stop off at the Tea Room.

Explore lots of gardens as part of the National Open Garden Scheme. Gardens open over the Easter Holidays include Kia Ora near Cullompton, Ashley Court on the edge of Tiverton and Pounds near Hemyock. Check our What’s On page to see all the gardens open in the area.
