Half Term Fun
We might still be feeling the effects of Storm Dennis but don’t let that dampen your half term this February; there’s still lots to do to help you entertain the kids!

Help them celebrate with transport-tastic events all week, from dressing up and quizzes to giant building blocks and transport Top Trumps. On Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th book or drop in to their transport themed craft activities from 11am – 3pm.
Get Muddy at The Bear Trail.
With all the rain we’ve been having it’s got to be the perfect week to tackle The Bear Trail’s Mighty Mudder 2020! Your bear cubs can battle the elements to take on the obstacle course and earn themselves a certificate AND a free return visit! Don’t miss the chance to have a go on the Water Walkerz, brand new for 2020!
Indulge in some theatre at Crediton Community Bookshop.
Snap up your tickets for Pugs of the Frozen North this Saturday 22nd February. This well-loved book by Philip Reeve ans Sarah McIntyre is brought to life, and the stage, by The Foundry Group. Sit back and enjoy while your little ones join in as the yipping sleigh dogs.
Turn nature detective at Knightshayes.
Learn how to spot the clues trees give us to help us identify them in the colder months at Knightshayes this week with their Tremendous Trees Trail.
Get crafty at Avo Glass.
New Tiverton independent Avo Glass provides some half term crafting fun this February showing your budding crafters how to make keyrings, bookmarks and jewellery from handmade glass beads.
Blow off some steam at a soft play centre.
Weather stopping you from getting out and about? Let the kids run off some energy while you enjoy a cuppa and a chat at one of Mid Devon’s brilliant soft play centres! Head to Planet Play or Waie 2 Play in Crediton or Monsters Mansion in Tiverton for indoor fun and adventure.
Free fun – If you’re holidaying on a budget there’s still plenty to do to make the most out of their half term.
Explore Mid Devon’s History.
If you’ve got a budding history buff in the family head out on a self guided heritage trail around Crediton, Tiverton or Cullompton, download a free Bampton Family Town Trail or pop into the free to visit Bampton Heritage and Visitor Centre where you’ll find children’s activities including dressing up, quizzes and an interactive video game.
Go for a ramble through Buzzards Woodland.
Keep them learning with a homemade nature Eye Spy – choose 5-10 things, like a leaf from a particular tree or a funny shaped stick, for them to look out for on your walk. If the weather turns, head back home and create a piece of woodland art with your finds!
Have a go at geo-caching.
Who doesn’t love a treasure hunt? The perfect way to get them out in the fresh air! Download a free app on your smart phone and hunt for hidden ‘caches’.
Whatever you choose to do this half term we hope you have an amazing time visiting Mid Devon!
