Uffculme – Riverside & Country Walk – Mid Devon Walking Festival

This walk is being hosted by Exeter & District Ramblers

Starting from Magelake Playing Fields Car Park, Uffculme, this circular walk follows the River Culm along the Culm Valley via Hunkin Wood to Culmstock. Then we head south through the tiny hamlet of Northcott, past Hackpen Mill (former water mill) and through the attractive village of Ashill, past ‘Slow Jacks’ returning to Uffculme and the car park. Lovely walk along the River Culm. Watch out for the ‘Devil’ as you cross the medieval bridge. Also takes in beautiful mid-devon countryside views.

Difficulty Level: Moderate/Challenging with one steep hill. Walk approx. 7 miles. Not suitable for wheelchair users. Walking boots/shoes advised.

Food and Drink: During the walk we will pass the Strand Stores & Coffee shop in Culmstock. Also bring a packed lunch and drink.

Useful Information: Dogs are welcome along on this walk, please note some road walking and livestock may be present. Arrive at 10.15am for a prompt 10.30am start.
