The Raddon Hills – Mid Devon Walking Festival
This walk is being hosted by Exeter & District Ramblers
A hilly but rewarding walk on footpaths and quiet lanes. From the car park we cross the A3072 and take the lanes to Haske and up the hill to Broxfords. The path continues through woods and across fields to Trew Woods, where we stop for coffee, and down to Westwood farm where we cross the A3072 again. From here we follow Shobrooke Lake and climb up to Stockleigh Wood and down into Stockleigh Pomeroy. We follow the road up to Raddon Hill and along to the Lonesome Pine, where we will stop for lunch. The views from here extend across the Creedy valley to Exeter and the Exe estuary beyond. After lunch we retrace our steps along the ridge and follow the lanes down to Uppincott and Pennicott. We take the footpath towards Shobrooke village and pass Shobrooke church where we will have a brief refreshment stop. We walk back to the cars down the lime tree avenue in Shobrooke Park.
