Green Man Sculpture Pottery Workshop
Helen McCormick, a local ceramic artist and teacher, has been creating objects from clay for the past 25 years. She is passionate about teaching and has created this workshop to share her skills, knowledge and experience with anyone who would like to have a go for the first time or to develop their skills further.
This workshop is designed to be a relaxed, friendly space where you can meet new people and have the opportunity to create, learn and have fun. In the morning, you will learn how to design and hand build your green man sculpture from clay using traditional techniques. In the afternoon, you will learn how to add colour to your work and carve patterns into the leaves section of your masterpiece.
All materials and equipment will be provided. Tea and Coffee will be available throughout the workshop. The only thing you need to bring is a packed lunch and an apron or wear old clothes.
There is FREE parking at the Walronds. Their carpark is located at the back of the building. To access the carpark you will need to turn up Tiverton Road off the High Street, and then turn left just before the fire station onto Shortlands Lane. It is a narrow lane and easily missed. Drive a few yards up the lane and you will see the sign for the carpark on the left. Turn left and follow the drive through the gate ahead. Here is a link to Google Maps which should take you right to the carpark entrance. https://goo.gl/maps/JKfioUFi3FCSnCHJ9
After the workshop, Helen will carefully take your sculpture home and fire them in her kiln. Your beautiful creations will be ready for collection 4-6 weeks after the workshop finishes from the Walronds. Helen will let you know the time and date.
