Bickleigh to Little Silver – Mid Devon Walking Festival

This walk is being hosted by Exeter & District Ramblers

A lovely walk following lanes, footpaths and bridle paths to explore a hilly but beautiful part of Mid-Devon. Starting at Bickleigh Bridge and the River Exe, the walk goes to the village of Cadeleigh, where, we may be able to see the fascinating Simon Leach memorial inside the church. We make our way to Little Silver while enjoying magnificent views, and return via the River Dart, passing a heronry on the way.

Difficulty Level: A challenging walk due to several steep hills. Paths can become muddy after heavy rain. One stream to cross. Walk around 8 miles. Not suitable for wheelchair users. Walking boots/shoes advised.

Meeting Point: Bickleigh Mill Overspill Car Park

Parking: Bickleigh Mill OVERSPILL Car Park. Immediately after  turning off A396 to Bickleigh Mill, take the right hand fork under a bridge to reach the overspill car-park. Post code: EX16 8RG. OS Grid ref: SS 937 074. What3words: computers.cookies.objective

Food and Drink: After the walk at the Fisherman’s Cot pub and the tea room at Bickleigh Mill

Also bring a packed lunch and drink.

Useful Information: Dogs are welcome on this walk, however please note that there will be some road walking and livestock may be present along the way. Please arrive at 10.15am ready for a prompt 10.30am start.
