Bampton Open Tower – Heritage Open Days
A chance to find out what happens in Bampton’s bell tower – tour of the tower, demonstrations, displays and a chance to ring a bell yourself.
PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO MAINTENANCE WORK, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED FROM SEPTEMBER TO 20 OCTOBER 2024.
Visitors can enjoy a series of activities which include climbing the tower to see the clock and bells, watching the bells being rung, viewing the displays and videos, learning about what is involved in becoming a bellringer and having a go at ringing a bell. Tours lasting an hour will run at 2:00, 3:00 & 4:00pm.

This event is not suitable for children under 8 years of age or for those with certain medical conditions or limited mobility.
Accessibility details
To participate in most aspects of this event you will need to be able to climb stairs without difficulty. We regret that we cannot accommodate children under 8 years at this event. Children 8 – 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
Additional information
Tower tours involve climbing spiral stairs and ladders and may not be suitable for those of limited mobility.
