About Bampton Fayre

Bampton Charter Fayre is a heritage event that has been running for centuries. Bampton was granted its Royal Charter by King Henry III in 1258 and has been celebrated ever since. It has always been a busy annual market and in the past famous across the country for its sheep and pony sales. On the last Thursday in October the streets of Bampton in Devon are closed to traffic and filled with a street market. Crowds enjoy live music all day and street entertainers provide a laugh or a scare! A fun-fair fills the town car-park and there is a craft fair, local producers and local traditional crafts.
