Diggerland Devon

Embark on an exhilarating adventure during the Easter holidays when you visit Diggerland Devon, where family fun meets construction-themed excitement! From 29th March to 14th April, experience the thrill of operating real construction machinery, enjoy rides such as the Diggerland Train and Spindizzy, and create lasting memories with your loved ones. Don’t miss the chance to dig into the fun every day throughout this exciting period!

Tiverton Museum

Head to the museum for Easter Fun. Follow the clues to find the eggs hidden around the museum and count how many chicks you can spot! PLUS dressing up, colouring and collage and lots more! The trail is included in normal admission and runs from Friday 29th March to Saturday 13th April. The museum is open Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 4pm. Book ahead for Easter online, or just turn up on the day.
The museum also have Craft Sessions on Tuesday 2nd and Tuesday 9th April, 10am – 12pm. These are drop in sessions, there’s no need to book. £3 per child with a paying adult (£2.50 with a museum member).

National Trust Knightshayes

Join the Easter Adventures at National Trust Knightshayes. Explore the beautiful gardens making your way along the trail and find nature-inspired activities for the whole family. The trail takes place between 23rd March and 14th April, from 10am to 5pm, with last entry at 4:30pm, so come along and explore the beautiful gardens of Knightshayes.

Prices are £3 per trail which includes and Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and a chocolate egg. Standard admission applies.

Easter at Bear Town

Visit this wonderful indoor role play venue between Friday 29th March – Sunday 14th April for a crackin’ Easter at Bear Town!
Bear Town’s Easter Bunny has hidden eggs throughout the Town and needs help from some little bunnies, to find them all.
Alongside their eggcellent two hour play session, your little ones will be hopping through the Town helping to collect all the eggs. Once all the eggs have been found, all paid children will be given a very special Easter gift to take home and enjoy.

Fursdon

Fursdon House and Gardens opens for the season on Monday 1st April and the got plenty to keep the family entertained. The House itself will be open for guided tours at 2.30pm and 3.30pm. Don’t miss the family museum (as part of the guided tour) , which showcases 18th century costumes and historic artefacts. Head in the gardens for beautiful walks with lots of spring bulbs, blossom and sweeping views across the valley, as well as an Easter Trail for kids with a small prize at the end.

The family friendly centre are running a fun Easter Egg Hunt from March 29th to April 1st. Help Betsy Bunny solve the bunny trail and win an Easter gift. Head to their website for information about opening times and prices.

The Little Prince at Tiverton Community Arts Theatre

Through mesmerising puppetry and beautiful songs, the boy who fell to earth teaches his friend the Aviator about love, life and real happiness in this adaptation of one of the best-selling children’s books of all time. There are two performances of this beautiful family show on Saturday 30th March, at 12pm and 2.30pm. It is recommended for ages 5+ and all seats are just £9.

The historic cinema in the centre of Tiverton always has lots to offer, from the latest blockbusters, to family friendly classics. They often have special offers running during school holidays so it’s worth keeping an eye on their social media. Check out their website to find out what’s on.

The Flock that Rock

Tiverton’s very own Swan Trail will be descending on the town from Wednesday 3rd April. Pick up a trail map from the Tourist Information Centre in Tiverton Museum or Visitor Centre at the Canal Basin and follow it around the town to spot all twelve painted swan sculptures. You’ll also find a naughty escapee 13th swan, ‘Swanning Around’, that will be popping up in different locations during the trail!

Ahead of the Swan Trail, explore some of the local businesses in Tiverton hunting for swan eggs before they hatch and fly off to their locations around the town! From 22nd March to 2nd April you’ll find 16 eggs hiding throughout the town. Pick up your trail booklet from one of the participating businesses and return it once you’ve found them all for a chance to win a prize.

Bear Trail

The fabulous muddy obstacle course reopens for 2024 on 29th March. Join them for Easter at The Bear Trail between Friday 29th March – Sunday 14th April. Tackle the course, having lots of fun in the mud, then collect an Easter certificate and a small sweet treat from the café. Book online via their website.

SUP and Breakfast on the Grand Western Canal

A wonderful opportunity to explore the Grand Western Canal with a stand up paddleboard guided tour, including a stop for a late breakfast. There are two dates, which must be booked in advance on Saturday 23rd March and Saturday 30th March. Head to their website for more details.

Paint Your Own Pottery

Create a lasting memory at one of Mid Devon’s pottery painting studios, with all sorts of options available. You’ll find Happy Glaze Pottery in Tiverton and Paint Pots of Devon in Crediton.
Paint Pots of Devon are also running a fun Easter Bunny Hunt from Monday 25th March to Monday 15th April. Search through Crediton to see if you can find the escaped pottery bunnies!

Crochet Creme Egg Cover Workshops

Heathcoat Fabrics Retail Shop

Make a cute cover for your little Easter treats in these workshops for ‘confident’ beginners at the popular retail shop in Tiverton. Includes all materials and instructions to make a cover for a chocolate egg (they’ll even throw in the egg) or hanging decoration.

Fudge’s Wool and Haberdashery

Bluebird & Daisy will take you through the steps to make bunny and chick covers for your chocolate eggs at this haberdashery in Cullompton. You’ll need to be able to make basic stitches, but all materials are included. Wednesday 27th and Saturday 30th March. These workshops are bookable on their website. 

Train Play Devon at Moorhayes Community Centre

Train Play Devon are coming to Moorhayes Community Centre, Tiverton on Saturday 13th April. Explore huge train tracks with trains, cars and dinosaurs to play with.
There will be a new and preloved toy stall selling lots of train related toys including wooden track and trains too.

Cullompton Springfest

Cullompton’s annual celebration of craft, food and music takes place this year on Saturday 8th April throughout the town. There’s lots happening all day from free drop in activities for children and exercise and sports sessions to live music and plenty of lovely local food and drink from local producers. Coldharbour Mill Easter Steam Up

On Monday 1st April, see the working wool museum in steam and explore the factory floor in action, as well as celebrating Easter with a selection of family crafts, meeting the Easter Bunny, and an egg hunt to complete. If you book ahead online on their website you’ll get a discount on your tickets.
